Walnut and Chestnut Farms, Mt Irvine and Mt Wilson
Autumn is the time to harvest chestnuts and walnuts and, at several properties across Mt Wilson and Mt Irvine, you are invited to visit the orchards to pick your own.
The season begins in March and continues until the nuts run out. These established nut orchards yield good quality, fresh nuts that are yours for the picking. Chestnuts have spiky shells, though, so we recommend you bring along a sturdy pair of gloves. Of course, you could also simply opt for walnuts.
